Terms and Conditions for Simply Science Tutoring
- Lessons will take place online via Zoom. Before the first lesson, once the booking has gone through, the parent will receive a recurring lesson link that will be used by the student to access each lesson. This link must not be shared with any anyone else.
- Students agree to join the meeting 3 minutes before the official starting time, so that the tutor can verify your identity and admit attendees to the meeting. The lesson will start promptly at the agreed time, regardless of whether all the students are present. The late comers will be accepted only when it does not cause disruptions for the other students.
- For safeguarding purposes, when the student is under 18 years of age, it is expected that an adult will be with them in the house for the duration of the lesson. Students must not be left at home alone during their online lesson.
- The video camera of the tutor will always be on. The students may have their camera on, but the tutor can choose to disable the student’s camera at other times. Sessions will be recorded and a link will be sent by email to the student.
- For making our lessons smooth and efficient, please ensure that you have an adequate internet connection and an account for Zoom (the basic one, free of charge). You need to do a trial run at least 24 hours before your session to check that there are no issues with accessing Zoom. Your tutor will not be able to help with technical issues during the lesson as she is teaching the lesson to other students.
- While the tutor will endeavour to ensure that the student makes satisfactory progress, this cannot be guaranteed, and the tutor cannot be held accountable for the academic performance of the student. I am responsible for explaining the concepts well, so the child can understand and then the student works hard, participates in lessons and learns these concepts well after each lesson for consolidation.
- Students are expected to actively participate in each session. This includes asking questions when they need clarification, attempting answers when prompted, engaging respectfully and with focus during the lesson
Payment
- When booking a place for your child, you are required to pay monthly at the start of each month.
- A delay in payment means that the monthly updated link will be withheld and your child will not be able to attend lessons until the payment goes through.
- Refunds will not be given if the student is unable to attend one of the lessons. The lesson materials will be provided and should be completed by the student in their own time.
Cancellations:
If the student is not making expected progress, both parties reserve the right to terminate this service. You can cancel anytime but if your decision to terminate comes in the middle of the month, refunds cannot be given for the remaining sessions in that month.
